UPVC Replacement Door Handles

The handles on your doors are worn out over time and will need to be replaced. When replacing them, it is crucial that the new handles match the dimensions of the old handle.

Inline Lever/Lever

A lever/lever door handle is a contemporary handle that can be installed on replacement or new doors. This kind of handle is available in a variety of styles and finishes. A number of manufacturers offer this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.

Lever Pad

A Lever Pad door handle made of upvc operates differently to the lever type handles on doors. These handles are operated by one spindle or two spindles, either inline or offset. They are usually employed on UPVC doors with double glazing. They come in a variety of finishes & variations.

The handles have been tested to at least 200 000 cycles and are available in a variety of finishes like White Silver, Chrome, & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to corrosion. This gives the handle an outstanding performance and long-lasting durability for its intended purpose.

All UPVC handle lever pads include a spindle and screws and can be mounted on the uPVC door. The backplate fixing centres of 211mm allow for a larger size handle that is often a benefit when replacing a damaged or worn multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers are spring-loaded, thereby solving the issue of handles hanging from their horizontal position when not in use.

It is crucial to ensure that the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC doors when selecting a replacement window handle UPVC spindle and handle. Euro Cylinder

Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other types of window handles of doors. The cylinder lock operates by a key which unlocks the cylinder's casing. This exposes pins that can be aligned with those inside the lock and allow them to rotate the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with external and internal doors generally requiring different levels of security.

Selecting the right cylinder for your needs is vitally important; this is dependent on the way your door and handle are utilized. For instance, doors that are external must be secured with a more secure cylinder while doors inside can be secured with the standard cylinder. Some cylinders have extra features that can increase security, for instance, anti-drill or anti bump properties.

A euro cylinder must be measured correctly to ensure it's the right size for your door. The cylinder must be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, should there be one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place, but if this is not possible, you can take it off to measure. It is crucial to not have a extension of the cylinder beyond the handle or escutcheon. This can make it susceptible to lock snapping attacks.

Most modern cylinders are designed with bump and anti-drill features built into their design. They are designed to minimize attack chances by forcing the cylinders to turn in a new direction. This can deflect the attack, and protect your door.

There are also cylinders constructed to resist snapping. This is a typical attack on cylinders. A special tool is used to break the lock's break line and then the front of the cylinder is snapped off. This is a lot faster and easier to achieve than gaining access through multipoint locks and leaves little evidence of a burglary, which could hinder an insurance claim.

Spring Cassette

This spring cassette is located inside the base plate of the door handle. It is a spring-loaded solution to help return your multipoint lock handles back to their original position after using. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was disconnected. This simple component is the best solution to solve this issue. It also stops your upvc door from becoming stuck in either the open or closed position, as they aren't easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specifically designed to be used with multipoint locks sprung, they will not fit multipoint handles that are not sprung and you must have a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes in the backplate of the door handle for many kinds of uPVC doors. They are supplied in one unit. They come with a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.
