Convenience

A built-in microwave oven combo will free up counter space and give your kitchen a more sleek look. Because it functions as a microwave in addition to a traditional oven it can cook leftovers, frozen food items and meals that are pre-packaged in one appliance. It eliminates the need for Built in Microwave Oven Combo separate appliances for the countertop or large wall ovens. A combination microwave oven can also be a good option if you want to upgrade your kitchen without undertaking any major renovation projects.

Microwave ovens can be found in many different styles to match your kitchen's decor. Some have a left-to-right swing-out door, while others feature a drop-down design that opens the same way as an ordinary oven. You can also get microwave ovens that open inside a drawer, similar to a cabinet. Microwave drawers are easily accessible and are perfect for small built in microwave spaces.

Combination microwaves built in can also offer various features to help make meal prep easier and more efficient. For instance, some models have sensors for steam cycles that automatically adjusts the time and temperature of your food to ensure that you get perfect steamed fish and vegetables. Other features include a broil feature that allows you to quickly melt cheese or cook your favorite food, as well as Crispwave(tm) technology that can grill or bake food and make it crisp.

They typically offer a more efficient cooking method than traditional wall ovens, since they consume less energy. They can also be used to cook food or warm dishes. This eliminates the need for other appliances like toasters or warming plates.

DOE conducts various analyses when evaluating possible amended energy conservation standards. These include market and technology assessments screening analysis, engineering analyses and national impact analysis (NIA). For this SNOPR, DOE will rely on its existing engineering analysis of microwave ovens to determine the highest level of efficiency improvements that are technically feasible for this product class.

In the engineering analysis, DOE will compare the design parameters of a microwave to a set of energy performance goals. The engineering analysis will then determine the maximum improvement in energy efficiency that is technologically feasible based on the most advanced microprocessor-controlled model available on the market or in working prototypes, or the maximum reduction in energy consumption that is technically achievable with the current technologies available for this product class.

As part of NIA, DOE will assess the impacts on consumers, including the cost savings over the lifecycle, as well as the simple payback time (PBP). DOE will employ the Government Regulatory Impact Model, with an adaptation for ovens that can be microwaved to calculate the industry's net present value (NPV).

DOE will also assess the impact on manufacturers and will use an altered industry cash flow model that is specifically tailored to this type of product in order to estimate manufacturing NPV. Finally, DOE will consider the potential impacts on small business manufacturers and other manufacturer subgroups to identify any that could be disproportionally affected by these proposals.

DOE will also examine whether the test procedure for microwave ovens has to be revised to include active mode power consumption as well as a possible integrated double oven and microwave energy use measurement. Currently, the test procedures only deal with the standby mode power usage.

Wall ovens are based on the circulation of hot air while microwaves rely on waves to cause food molecules to vibrate. Combination wall units combine both appliances into one unit, reducing space in the kitchen and giving a modern, sleek look.
